By using MyLocalScout, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before creating an account or using our services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MyLocalScout ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using the Platform.

2. Description of Service

MyLocalScout is a marketplace platform that connects travelers ("Travelers") with local experts ("Experts") for personalized travel advice delivered via video consultations. We facilitate these connections but are not a party to any agreements made between Travelers and Experts.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use our services.

3.2 Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

3.3 Accurate Information: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate.

3.4 One Account: Each user may only maintain one account. Creating multiple accounts may result in termination of all accounts.

4. Expert Requirements

4.1 Qualifications: Experts must have genuine local knowledge of the areas they offer advice about. Misrepresenting your expertise is grounds for account termination.

4.2 Approval: All Expert profiles are subject to review and approval by MyLocalScout. We reserve the right to reject or remove any Expert profile.

4.3 Conduct: Experts must conduct themselves professionally and provide honest, helpful advice to Travelers.

5. Bookings and Payments

5.1 Booking Process: Travelers may request bookings with Experts through the Platform. Experts have the right to accept or decline any booking request.

5.2 Consultation Fees: Experts set their own hourly rates. All fees are displayed before booking confirmation.

5.3 Cancellations: Our cancellation policy allows free cancellation up to 24 hours before a scheduled consultation. Late cancellations may be subject to fees.

5.4 Refunds: Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support if you experience issues with a consultation.

6. Prohibited Conduct

Users agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for any illegal purpose
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Provide false or misleading information
  • Circumvent the Platform to arrange bookings or payments outside of MyLocalScout
  • Share account credentials with others
  • Scrape, copy, or collect user data without permission
  • Upload malicious content or attempt to compromise the Platform
  • Impersonate another person or entity

7. Intellectual Property

The Platform and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by MyLocalScout and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of information provided by Experts or the quality of any consultations. Travelers should use their own judgment when following travel advice.

9. Limitation of Liability

MyLocalScout shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Platform or any consultations arranged through it.

10. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Users may also delete their accounts at any time through their account settings.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
